Description:: The measurement data is recorded using a five-hole probe. These are used to record the magnitude and direction of the velocity vector at a local point within a flow field. A miniature five-hole probe with a spherical head is used. The probe head has a diameter of 2 mm and the pressure holes each have a diameter of 0.3 mm. The measurements were carried out at a Mach number of 0.13.

Experimental analysis of the flow in a generic extraction module

Description:: Extraction modules enable controlled steam extraction, for example to feed a district heating network, while at the same time reducing the turbine output generated. Depending on the set operating point, however, these extraction modules can have a sensitive effect on the surrounding flow field and cause time-dependent and highly asymmetrical component loads. Within the planned project, these operating point-dependent flow fields are to be experimentally measured and analyzed within a generic extraction module.
